A 57-year-old man is accused of shooting and killing his 19-year-old daughter before turning the gun and killing himself in their Canton home.
Cherokee County Police responded to a call around 5:45 p.m. of reports of a person shot in the Bridgemill subdivision.
Authorities confirmed that Howard Newhouse shot and killed his daughter, Katheryn Newhouse, then killed himself.
Captain Jay Baker told Channel 2 Action News that’s wife was at home when the shooting occurred.
It remains under investigation.
Something is seriously wrong with the narrative that the older brother is divulging. He’s putting it all on his transgendered sister and idk about that. It takes a lot for someone to kill themselves. They have to fight the natural instinct of self-preservation of their body. I think what the brother is not disclosing is the father had his own share of mental issues. It takes a lot to kill yourself. I don’t believe this narrative completely, he’s putting this all on his sister who was murdered by her father. And if you run through her public facebook, reading the posts going back some time, you’ll see, she was saying her true feelings about things happening in her life. People get triggered. I do believe in the volatility that could be within all mental illness, but I do believe people can trigger other people. I don’t believe the father is so “innocent” in all this. The older brother is covering up for the father and low-key trashing his sister with this narrative.
