The decomposing remains of a Florida mother and her 3-year-old twins were discovered inside a car, prompting police to launch an investigation.
On Sunday, Andrea Langhorst, 35, and her two children, Olivia and Adam Dryer, were discovered dead outside a Melbourne apartment complex after police received complaints of a suspicious car parked outside.
“The windows are all fogged. They said there’s a really bad stench coming out of it,” a 911 caller said.
“But, you can’t see into the car because the windows are so fogged.”
As of right now, it is unclear how long the family was in the car or when they died.
According to investigators, autopsy and toxicology reports are pending to determine whether the trio died simultaneously or whether the mother died before the twins.
“We were looking for her and hadn’t heard anything from her. That was unusual for her. We wouldn’t have daily contact with her, but this was a while,” Randy said.
“She was a free spirit, smart as a whip, beautiful, but lived her life to the beat of her drummer. It’s just a tragedy.”
