A seven-month-old baby girl in Georgia has died after being mauled to death by a family dog, authorities said.
The infant, Serenity Garnett, was brutally attacked by the family’s American Bulldog Great Pyrenees mix on Tuesday at a home located in suburban Augusta.
The baby was being watched by her great-grandmother, Migdelia Guadalupe at the time of the attack and was rushed to the AU Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said.
Guadalupe also suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the dog attack and had to be hospitalized.
