A man was recorded punching a Southwest Airlines worker and now he’s been arrested.
The incident took place at a gate at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday. A man can be seen walking up to a gate agent and punching him in the video. Afterward, the gate agent begins to try to make his way to the assaulter, who was identified as Courtney Drummond.
This all stems from the male passenger being disorderly after he was asked to get off a flight, the gate agent told police, according to WSB-TV 2. Drummond allegedly was refusing to follow along with instructions flight attendants gave him as the plane taxied from the gate to the tarmac, the news outlet reports.
When Drummond allegedly became hostile, the plane was forced to return to the gate. That’s where Drummond threatened the gate agent several times and then put his hands on him. Drummond was arrested and charged with simple battery, battery and obstruction.
