A Texas mother was shot and killed while visiting her son’s gravesite on his “first birthday in heaven.”
On Tuesday, Yolanda N’Gaojia, 52, was shot at the Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen. According to authorities, Yolanda did not survive the shooting but a second victim at the scene suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Yolanda’s ex-husband, Kineh N’Gaojia, says Yolanda was spending time with their son Amir on what would’ve been his 22nd birthday. Amir, unfortunately, passed away this year on New Year’s Day. He was one of the three children that Yolanda and Kineh share.
After Yolanda’s death, Kineh wrote on Facebook, “I have no words because I can’t believe this is real. This is stuff you see [in] movies, but it has become our life. I can’t believe you are gone…how y’all gonna kill her on her Son birthday at his gravesite???”
In another post, Kineh follows up with, “My children will never be the same again. Those bullets took a precious gem from us but gave us an Amazing Angel to guide us so you know we ain’t going nowhere but up cause we know how hard you rode for your family.”
