Cardi B and her sister Hennessy Carolina are celebrating a legal victory after they won a defamation case against MAGA supporters.
Three people sued the Bronx-born rapper and her younger sister in NYC over an altercation in the Hamptons in September 2020.
Hennessy and her friends showed up at the Smith Point Beach and got into a dispute with three other beachgoers, including one wearing a MAGA hat. The three people accused Hennessy of spitting on one of them and displaying insulting and threatening behavior.
The lawsuit claims Hennessy called the group “racist, MAGA supporters.” The trio claimed the term “racist” was defamatory.
Cardi, who was not with her sister during the altercation, tweeted a video of the incident, claiming her sister and her friends were being targeted because they are Afro-Hispanic and gay.
In the video clip, Hennessy could be heard calling the people racist.
A New York trial judge dismissed the case and said these were all just general insults that do not rise to the level of defamation.
