Virginia Man Convicted Of Running Over Childhood Friend Over $100

A Virginia man pleaded no contest to various charges connected to an incident where he ran over his childhood friend with his car over a financial dispute.

Jalen Jackson, 20, was arrested in September and charged with attempted second-degree murder, malicious assault, and failure to stop.

Jackson reportedly hit Treyvonte Holcomb three times with his car over a dispute over money. Holcomb told ABC 8News that he was chasing Jackson because he took $100 from him. 

“He pressed on the gas and was looking at me like he was in a NASCAR like he wanted to just kill me,” according to Holcomb. 

According to witnesses, Jackson hit Holcomb with the vehicle, and Holcomb went up over the car. He was able to get up and grab Jackson and shake him, so Jackson backed over him. Jackson proceeded to hit him two more times. 

Jackson fled the area in the car but was later apprehended by the Virginia State Police. He reportedly parked the vehicle behind a church in a different area of the county. 

Holcomb was lucky that he wasn’t severely injured during the hit-and-run. He was taken to a hospital where he received stitches in his leg and was treated for a concussion and pelvis injury.

Commonwealth Attorney for Amelia County Lee Harrison said that he would not allow a plea in the case. Jackson has a prior history with the courts. He is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
