Waka Flocka is opening up for the first time publicly about his split from his estranged wife, Tammy.
During a recent interview with “It’s Tricky With Raquel Harper,” Flocka revealed that there was no beef between the two and that despite calling it quits after eight years of marriage, he still considers her his best friend.
“That’s my best friend, that’s my dog,” he said.
The rapper quickly addressed those skeptical of their breakup and said there wasn’t any beef or nasty incident; they just grew apart.
He said, “People just want it to be fighting and hating and something happened. Hell no, we’re just grown. Why is it that, when people evolve for the better, why does there have to be something attached to it that’s slimy as spit? … Why it gotta be so nasty if we ain’t nasty? It’s love though, me and Tammy stamped.”
When asked if there was any chance of the couple reconciling, Waka had no comment but said Tammy could never do anything to make him hate her.
Later in the interview, Waka discussed how Charlie, Tammy’s daughter from a previous relationship, was the biggest blessing in life.
According to Waka, he will always have a love for Tammy based on Charlie alone.
Recently on social media, Tammy opened up about their split and said, “I’ve been filming for the new show … it’s been pretty good this season … even though me and Waka not together, we still have this show.”
It’s good to know that after eight long years, the two can continue to co-parent positively and be in each other’s lives.
