On to the next.
Joe Exotic, 59, has officially filed for divorce from estranged husband Dillon Passage, 26. Though the relationship was on pause for a year, the Tiger King star is looking to move forward.
After four years together, Joe Exotic aka Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage submitted paperwork to the Florida courthouse for the divorce, citing that the couple’s union is “irretrievably broken.” The pair is mostly separate because Maldonado-Passage is serving a 21-year prison sentence for animal abuse and attempted murder.
Joe is reportedly seeking ‘temporary, rehabilitative, durational, bridge-the-gap, and lump sum alimony’ to help maintain the standard of living he had during his marriage to Passage.’
The couple announced their split in March 2021, after tying the knot in December 2017. In an Instagram post, Maldonado-Passage said that Dillon was alone. The star also claims that Passage has abandoned him.
“Dillon thinks having to sleep alone and not have me out there is so rough and hard to deal with to the point he has to leave me. Now I don’t even have a home.”
Passage responded to rumors of their breakup on his social media. “To answer the main question the public wants to know, yes, Joe and I are seeking a divorce. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but Joe and I both understand that this situation isn’t fair to either of us.”
Apparently, Maldonado-Passage’s legal team confirmed that the two were supposed to divorce last year, but Maldonado-Passage “failed to serve” Passage. They agreed to stay married so as not to complicate things.
Pers docs, Maldonado-Passage asks the court to restore his former name to Joseph Allen Maldonado.
