A 68-year-old man was brutally attacked by another man who used his dog as a “deadly weapon” to rob him after withdrawing money at an ATM in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Fort Lauderdale Police said the attempted robbery occurred on March 2, just after 4 p.m., at 888 Northwest 62nd Street. Surveillance footage from the Bank shows the man being approached by the shirtless suspect, who was dragging his large dog behind him.
The suspect then hit the victim in the face and continued to punch him repeatedly after he fell to the ground. Authorities say the suspect ordered his dog to attack the man while he punched him approximately 13 times and kicked him while he was on the ground.
The victim suffered a broken orbital socket and lacerations “a result of the biting from the dog.”
Police need help to identify the suspect, described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 20 and 30. He is of thin build, with brown hair and brown eyes.
