Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert took over the cover of Ebony magazine’s April 2022 issue along with their beautiful children.
In their cover issue, the couple spoke on their family and the legacy they are building for their daughters, 6-year-old Iman Tayla “Junie” Shumpert Jr. and 19-month-old Rue Rose Shumpert. The couple says they are determined to “build generational wealth” and are doing so by working together as a team to make their family succeed.
“What I respect about Iman and my dynamic is that we empower and push one another to be better versions of ourselves all across the board. I love that our relationship goes beyond just support. We hold each other accountable to be greater. We are the example for our girls,” the “Maybe” singer explained.
The pair, who are the epitome of Black Love, discussed the negative impacts of social media rumors, particularly a recent and damaging one. Recently, talks began to spread that Taylor was abusing drugs to cope with Iman’s alleged infidelity after a TikToker made the claims. Taylor, who was recovering from surgery to remove benign lumps in her breast, was devastated by the rumors, which she and her husband have vehemently denied. The gossip commenced around the same time that a photo surfaced of Taylor lying in a hospital bed.
“For someone to take that and make it a joke is extremely hurtful. It makes me emotional thinking about it,” Teyana Taylor revealed. Iman also chimed in, slamming people who choose to attack his “real life.”
Thankfully, the singer and basketball pro have been able to bounce back from the harmful internet attacks on their character, and their love for one another has not been swayed.
