Michael Williams, the man responsible for the murder of Angela Simmons’ ex-fiance Sutton Tennyson was sentenced to life in prison and an additional 15 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He will be eligible for parole after serving a minimum of 30 years in prison.
Angela Simmons gave an emotional speech in court earlier this week after Williams was handed down his sentence.
During her speech, Angela spoke of her 5-year-old son, who continuously asked, “when will my dad come back” after Sutton Tennyson passed away.
Knowing how excited Sutton was about raising their son, Angela said she cried all the time, adding that her son will forever wonder what life would be like if he had a dad.
She said Sutton would never be forgotten and that his son would carry on his legacy.
In 2018, it was reported that Angela’s fiancé was found dead in his garage with several gunshot wounds. According to police, he talked with another man in the driveway when the conversation became heated, and he was shot.
A few days later, Williams surrendered to police and was charged with eight counts, including murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
