A man traveling onboard a Carnival cruise ship jumps off and has yet to be found.
A passenger also on the boat told TMZ that she was on deck 7 Saturday morning when two teens ran past her in a panic. She said she told them to slow down so they wouldn’t hurt themselves, and that’s when they yelled that someone had gone overboard.
Security quickly began their search, and Coast Guard was called in to assist. They used bright lights to shine on the dark sea, and the cruise line stayed to help in the search. However, nothing turned up.
The ship then departed for its destination to Port Canaveral, Florida, and the Coast Guard was left to continue searching.
The adult man was traveling on the cruise with his family, a spokesperson for Carnival told TMZ.
Security confirmed that he had gone overboard.
A spokesperson for Carnival also told the outlet, “The Carnival Care Team is supporting the guest’s family. Mardi Gras is arriving to Port Canaveral this morning and will be sailing to its next itinerary. Our thoughts and prayers are with the guest and his family.”
