A Bronx man faces charges after he defended his wife after an assault and attempted rape.
Monday night, just ten days after his release from prison, career criminal Earl Nash forced his way inside Nenegale Diallo’s Washington Ave apartment and dropped his pants. Once inside, he attacked Nash with a chair and tore her clothes off.
Nenegale offered the man money and he replied, “I don’t want money. I’m going to rape you.” Fearing for her life, after attempting to fight off the intruder, Nenegale called her husband Mamadou Diallo. Mamadou, 61, rushed home from his job as a Lyft driver, and confronted the man.
The two men began to fight, according to Daily News; Nash beat Diallo with a belt as her husband bashed him in the head and body with a tire iron. Nash was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he later died from severe trauma to the head.
Diallo was arrested and charged with manslaughter, despite his claims of self-defense. However, his charges were later reduced to assault. The judge allowed Diallo release on his own recognizance.
He is due back to court on June 27. Do you think he should serve any jail time?
