Mac Miller's Drug Dealer Reportedly Sentenced to Nearly 11 Years in Prison

One of the men who supplied late rapper Mac Miller with fatal fentanyl-laced pills was sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison on Monday.

Ryan Michael Reavis, 39, appeared in federal court in Los Angeles and received 10 years and 11 months for the crime after pleading guilty in November to one count of distributing fentanyl. In addition to prison time, he was also sentenced to three years of supervised release with drug testing, Rolling Stone reports.

Reavis claimed to be the middle man in the deal and said he had no clue the counterfeit oxycodone pills he supplied to a fellow drug dealer were laced with fentanyl. Though Reavis’ sentence is longer than the five years he requested, it is shorter than the 12 and a half years prosecutors sought.

Prior to the sentencing, prosecutors read a statement from Miller’s mom, Karen Meyers.

“My life went dark the moment Malcolm left his world. Malcolm was my person, more than a son. We had a bond and kinship that was deep and special and irreplaceable. We spoke nearly every day about everything – his life, plans, music, dreams,” the statement said.

“He would never knowingly take a pill with fentanyl, ever. He wanted to live and was excited about the future. The hole in my heart will always be there,” she said.

Mac was just 26 years old when he died at his home in Los Angeles in September 2018.  Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and Coroner ruled his death was a result of a lethal cocktail of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol.

Two other men also have been charged in Miller’s death.

Stephen Andrew Walter, 48, took a plea deal last October. He admitted he supplied the fentanyl-laced pills to Reavis. Walker faces a 17-year prison sentence.

30-year-old Cameron James Pettit’s case is still “pending,” prosecutors say.
