Rapper Erica Banks has broken her silence about her cosmetic work, which she believes had a positive impact on her career.
During her interview with @thejojoandbighomieshow, Banks explained that she felt women in the music industry feel pressured to get cosmetic work done to get ahead. While she said that she has wanted to get a BBL since high school, she did feel that it was necessary for her career. When host @_jojoalonso asked the 1501 artist if she thought getting a BBL “enhanced” her career as an artist, she replied “absolutely.”
“I knew in the career field that it would help,” she explained before adding, “I got it because I knew it’s something I had to do, and it’s also something I wanted to do because I’m just not a gym girl.”
The 23-year-old caught slack last year when fans caught wind of her breast augmentation after she rose to fame following the success of her TikTok anthem, “Buss It.”
Nevertheless, Erica Banks is not bothered by the critics and tells anyone bothered by her new body to “take it up with the motherf*****g doctor.”
