Monica Claps Back at White Reporter Who Believed She Shouldn’t Have Attended the CMT Awards

Monica is not having it.

After reporter Patrick Howley made controversial comments about Black people attending the CMT Awards the “So Gone” singer is clapping back.

Howley complained over Black attendees saying CMT Awards are not “Wakanda.” And Monica didn’t like the comments, responding in an Instagram post.

CMT’s Instagram even responded to Monica’s post directed toward the reporter.

CMT responded, “@monicadenise WE love you. Your performance at the show with @jimmieallen and @littlebigtown was magical. AND we can’t wait for the new music you’ve got coming soon.” 

The 2022 CMT Awards featured a diverse background from hosts to performers, and Howley criticized the awards calling it a “trainwreck.”

Monica’s post continues, “Because of the genuine hearts of @lesliefram1 & @cmt … I shared the stage w/ @jimmieallen & @littlebigtown …This was the first of many times that you will see me!
