More than 120,000 pounds of ground beef have been recalled due to a possible E. Coli contamination.
On Monday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a notice that approximately 120,872 pounds of raw ground beef produced from New Jersey-based company Lakeside Refrigerated Services were affected by a possible E. Coli contamination.
The ground beef products were manufactured between February 1 and April 8, CNN reports. The producers are labeled with “EST. 46841” inside the USDA mark of inspection, FSIS reports, per CNN. FSIS is telling anyone who has bought this specifically marked meat to return it back to where it was purchased or throw it out completely.
E. coli, short for Escherichia, can cause severe stomach and digestive problems like cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea.
