A Louisiana couple is in a heap of legal trouble after their daughter was found dead, covered in urine and feces, and “melted” into a couch. Both are facing a possible murder charge.
The allegations have many around them in shock, a report said.
Sheila and Clay Fletcher’s 36-year-old daughter, Lacey Ellen Fletcher, was found dead on Jan. 3. She was found on a ratty couch covered in urine and feces and weighed under 100 pounds, the New York Post reported.
Clay resigned from the Baton Rouge Civil War Roundtable following the disturbing news and Sheila, a former town alderman, is reportedly on leave from her job as an assistant to the Zachary city prosecutor.
“Shocked, because it doesn’t match any of my experience of him,” Roundtable member John Potts said. “He’s completely different than what you would expect someone like that to be.”
Apparently, many friends didn’t know the Fletchers had a daughter. Potts said that he only heard Clay mention, Lacey, after she died.
“The details are horrific, there is no doubt about that, and I can’t conceive of how something like that can even happen,” Potts added.
Lacey reportedly suffered from a rare neurological disorder.
The DA is likely to present a second-degree murder charge for her parents to a grand jury Monday.
