The New Jersey woman who was seriously injured following a fender bender accident that escalated into a road rage attack is still shocked by the gruesome encounter.
Morgan Scott, 23, recalled the terrifying incident from her hospital bedside, saying she was on her way to her job with the City of Elizabeth last month when her car was hit by a Mitsubishi SUV in what was at first a harmless incident.
But then things went left when the other driver, Vincent Jean, 56, suddenly drove his SUV at her after she stepped out of her vehicle to look at the damage, authorities said.
Jean is accused of running over the victim multiple times as she tried to flee across the yard of a home in the area, the shocking scene was captured on video as onlookers shouted in horror.
“I definitely think he’s a danger to society,” Scott said to Inside Edition on Friday. She is recovering from numerous injuries at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, the New York Post reported.
Jean has been charged with attempted murder and is scheduled to appear in court again in June.
The attack has left Scott with traumatic injuries, including a broken femur, broken ribs on both sides, and a broken neck in three different places.
Both of her knees were split open, her liver was lacerated, and she has to protect her face from sunlight because of road rash scars.
She also needed surgery to place a rod in her leg.
The suspect sped his SUV at her after she got out of her car to take pictures of his license plate, the victim also told Inside Edition.
“I was able to get out of the way, but I was shocked that that was going on,” Scott said. “I tried to run cause I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ Let me get my shoes off because I had heels on at the same time. One of them couldn’t come off all the way, and I fell.”
“When it comes to my family, my friends — they’re there for me, and I want to be there for them,” said Scott, who broke down in tears during the interview.
