Adrian Peterson will not be prosecuted for a domestic violence incident that he claims was one big misunderstanding.
If you recall, Peterson was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on February 13th. The situation stemmed from a verbal altercation between him and his wife, Ashley Peterson, on a flight on Super Bowl Sunday. Ashley reportedly sustained a small mark on her hand. Nevertheless, authorities felt that it was enough to take Adrian into custody.
Shortly after the incident made headlines, Ashley issued a statement maintaining that Adrian never struck her.
“On Sunday, Adrian and I had a verbal argument. Unfortunately, it was on an airplane. At no point did Adrian hit or strike me,” she stated in an Instagram post.

Adrian was released the same day of his arrest after posting $50,000 bail. Shortly after, the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office declined to bring felony charges against the free agent. The case was then handed over to the L.A. City Attorney for possible misdemeanor charges. Luckily, no misdemeanor charges weren’t filed either. Instead, Adrian agreed to complete 20 sessions of domestic violence and alcohol counseling within the next six months.
Neither Ashley nor Adrian Peterson have publicly commented on the recent update in the case.
