Anna Nicole Smith’s 15-year-old daughter Dannielynn Birkhead was spotted out at the Kentucky Derby’s Barnstable Brown Gala in Janet Jackson’s iconic outfit.
Jackson wore the black pantsuit and hat to the same event in 2003. According to dad Larry Birkhead’s Instagram post, the outfit was purchased at auction.
A lucky Dannielynn met the iconic singer, who also attended the event this year. According to a follow-up post, the pair even got to snap a photo with the legendary singer.
“Janet was so gracious and complimentary of Dannielynn in her outfit,” the post’s caption read. “She made Dannielynn so happy and even graciously posed for a photo with us.”
Larry, who has raised Dannielynn primarily out of the spotlight, has a longstanding tradition of attending the Kentucky Derby together every year. Larry and Smith met at the race in the early 2000s.
The teen wore a colorful dress to the race with a blue and white fascinator this year. It is tradition to showcase the finest in spring fashions while attending the Derby.
