‘BMF’ star Lil Meech made headlines Wednesday after it was revealed he was arrested in Miami back in March on two counts of first-degree grand theft and a separate count of organized fraud. The actor is being accused of stealing a $250,000 Richard Mille watch.
TMZ reports that back in February, Lil Meech, who stars as his dad Big Meech in the Starz series, put down his $80,000 platinum Rolex watch toward payment on the new timepiece at Haimov Jewelers in Miami. The jewelers claimed Meech failed to pay the remaining $200,000 balance and never returned the watch. He was later arrested and charged on March 14.
Authorities also accuse the actor of trying to trade the timepiece in for another Richard Mille watch at a different store.
Wednesday, Haimov Jewelers issued a statement via their Instagram stories regarding the incident.
“Haimov Jewelers is a family business. You cannot trade a watch that wasn’t paid for to another jeweler. And take the next jeweler’s watch and not pay them as well. We all work hard for our money and do clean business. We reached out many, many times but you ignore [us]. If someone owed you $200K would you let that slide? We put our blood, sweat, and tears into making this business successful. We came from the [bottom].”
Records show Meech was released on the bond the day of his arrest.
