A retired doctor is being accused of wrongly prescribing sex-change treatments to seven trans individuals, including a nine-year-old.
Dr. Michael Webberley’s online gender clinic, GenderGP, offered puberty inhibitors and cross-sex hormones.
According to reports, Webberley lacked the essential training to provide such services to trans individuals.
Webberley diagnosed one of the patients, who had Asperger’s Syndrome, with gender dysphoria but failed to obtain medical records.
Unfortunately, that patient later committed suicide.
Webberley then diagnosed a nine-year-old based on a questionnaire.
A panel of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in Manchester found him guilty of administering “not clinically indicated” treatment.
The panel hasn’t decided if Dr. Webberley will face additional punishment.
