Nestlé Toll House Café will convert to Great American Cookies by the end of 2022.
The move comes after global restaurant franchise company FAT Brands purchased Global Franchise Group in 2021, which was the parent company of Great American Cookies, Round Table Pizza, Marble Slab Creamery, Pretzelmaker, and Hot Dog on a Stick. The $442.5 million deal presented a new opportunity for Great American Cookies, which has been a staple in malls across the country for years.
Though FAT Brands refrained from disclosing how much they acquired The Nestlé Toll House Café stores for, they have confirmed that they will be rebranded as Great American Cookies, expanding bakery and ice cream offerings. This merger will present two creamery offerings in the company’s empire, making it a strong force against ice cream competitors. Its Marble Slab Creamery offers over 75 flavors on its menu.
There are currently 85 Nestlé Toll House Café franchise locations across the nation. The locations were previously operated by restaurant franchisor company Crest Foods, Inc., based in Richardson, Texas. Nestlé Toll House Café in the U.S. market has historically offered a variety of treats, including cookie cakes, cookies, brownies, sandwiches, ice cream, milkshakes, smoothies, and coffee drinks.
The transition from Nestlé Toll House Café to Great American Cookies should be completed by the end of 2022.
