A Georgia teenager was arrested for making death threats toward the sheriff over YSL RICO arrests.
Georgia deputies took 18-year-old Quartavius Mender into custody on May 26, 2022. Mender was charged with two dozen felony charges for threatening to kill the Fulton County sheriff. The death threats were sent with hopes of freeing Young Thug and the YSL crew.
Investigators say Mender wrote several death threats in the comments of Instagram posts of Sheriff Pat Labat, the Gwinnett County Sheriff, and the Fulton County Clerk.
Authorities stated that Mender wrote he would kill the sheriff, his wife, and Atlanta Public Schools Police Chief Ronald Applin. However, the threats could cease if authorities released one of the YSL members.
“We take these kinds of brazen threats seriously,” Sheriff Labat said. “Social media cyberbullying and hiding behind a keyboard will not protect someone from criminal prosecution. Our investigators are diligent in seeking individuals who mean to do harm to anybody. I am grateful to them for ensuring the safety of myself, my wife, and all citizens of Fulton County.”
Mender was charged with 23 felony counts of terrorist threats. He is currently being held in Fulton County Jail without bond.
