Young Thug, born Jeffrey Williams, is currently facing a slew of charges in a RICO indictment, alongside his YSL labelmates. On Thursday, Thugger was denied bond.
During Thursday’s bond hearing, prosecutors quoted the rapper’s “Bad Boy” lyrics, claiming the Atlanta rapper bragged about shooting at YFN Lucci’s mother.
“Mr. Williams got into a beef, if you will, with another rapper by the name of Rayshawn Bennett, also known as YFN Lucci,” the prosecutor tells the court. “At some point, Lucci’s mother was shot at, and the song comes out, ‘Bad Boy,’ that says, uh, let’s see…. ‘You better watch the way you breathe around me ‘fore that breath be your last boy, Smith & Wesson .45 put a hole in his heart, better not play with me, killers stay with me, I shot at his mommy now he no longer mention me.’”
It’s been widely reported that Lucci has been named as a victim in the indictment against YSL. Authorities believe that YSL planned an attack on Lucci or possibly even tried to murder him. Lucci, who is currently in jail, was stabbed while behind bars.
In addition, the prosecutor kept referring to Young Thug as “King Slime,” calling him a dangerous man.
The judge cited concerns about witnesses being threatened or harmed when denying Thugger’s bail. The trial isn’t expected to begin until January of next year.
Gunna, Yak Gotti, YSL Duke, and several other YSL label affiliates are also facing charges under the indictment.
