The man accused of fatally shooting Atlanta rapper Trouble has turned himself in after his mother encouraged him to surrender to authorities, police said early Tuesday.
Jamichael Jones, 33, was arrested at 1 a.m. Tuesday in Clayton County and taken into custody. He is facing charges of home invasion, felony murder, and aggravated assault in connection to the rapper’s murder.
Police say the deadly shooting took place Sunday morning just before 3:30 inside Lake St. James Apartment complex. When authorities responded, the 34-year-old rapper, whose real name is Mariel Semonte Orr, was found with a gunshot wound in the chest. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, officials said.
Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said Trouble was visiting a female friend when Jones forced his way into the apartment and fired that fatal shot.
Jones appeared in court Tuesday morning where a judge denied him bond.
