E. Coli Outbreak Linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounders Declared Over by CDC After Over 100 Reported Illnesses

A McDonald’s manager is fighting for her life after being shot by one of her employees.

The incident occurred on Friday, June 3rd, at a McDonald’s on Moreland Avenue in Atlanta. Manager Elizabeth Williams reportedly asked 21-year-old staff member Christopher Jean-Pierre to leave the restaurant following an argument. Jean-Pierre left the premises but eventually returned and confronted Williams outside before shooting her multiple times. He then fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended.

Chief People Officer for Sunshine and Sunrise McDonald’s Colnith Brown described Williams as an “amazing leader” who was loved by all who knew her. In fact, Williams and the suspect had such a good relationship that she’d washed a load of his laundry and brought it to work with her on the day of the shooting. Therefore, it is unclear what the two could have argued about that would have resulted in the attack.

Williams remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. Jean-Pierre is facing counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
