According to federal prosecutors, R. Kelly should remain in jail for at least 25 years, and unfortunately, that’s just for one of his many cases.
Federal New York prosecutors reportedly believe there is enough evidence to lock Kelly up for “an excess of 25 years.”
In court documents obtained by TMZ, the feds claim Kelly is extremely dangerous because of his history of seducing minors. Prosecutors cited his relationship with Aaliyah as a prime example, stating he began sexually abusing her when she was as young as 12 or 13. Kelly then married her to cover up the abuse and avoid criminal charges.
Prosecutors are hopeful that the judge will rule in favor of the 25 years due to Kelly’s recordings of child pornography and the “physical and psychological” abuse of women, detailed in the “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary.
The feds say that Kelly’s impressive catalog of hits led him to believe “his musical talent absolved him of any need to conform his conduct — no matter how predatory, harmful, humiliating or abusive to others — to the strictures of the law.”
However, that’s not all. Kelly is still facing another federal case out of Illinois and a state trial in Minnesota.
