DOJ Assigns A Team To Investigate Response To The Uvalde School Massacre

Department of Justice in Washington D.C.

Following an outpour of rage and backlash, The Department of Justice (DOJ) has assigned a team of nine people to investigate and review the law enforcement’s response to the school shooting in Uvalde. Footage of the police standing in front of the school while gunshots rang went viral, causing many to wonder if the police could have done more after waiting an hour to enter the school.

A close source to the government shared that the DOJ is the top police department in the country and usually steps in to investigate serious matters such as the police involvement in the Uvalde’s massacre. The source stated, “The DOJ will either investigate for A, wrongdoing, B, anything that could be done to improve the police department or C, to make changes. He also shared that anything is possible. “Guys can lose their jobs. It would have to be something malicious or an intent not to go into the school where the shots were fired.”

Over 100 shots were fired while scared parents and 19 police officers stood outside the premises. According to the Active Shooter Response of School-Based Law Enforcement Manual, “First responders to the active shooter scene will usually be required to place themselves in harms way and display uncommon acts of courage to save the innocent.”

This manual was used to train Uvalde’s police department months before the shooting. It also stated, “A first responder unwilling to place the lives of the innocent above their own safety should consider another career field.”
