Florida Private School Teacher Arrested For Sexting With Student

A teacher at a Florida private school is facing charges for sexting with an 18-year-old student at the school where she worked.

Julie Hoover, 38, is charged with one count of an authority figure soliciting or engaging in sex with a student.

According to arrest records, she is a teacher at Point of Grace Christian School in Perry. WCTV reports that the student’s mother contacted the sheriff’s office after finding explicit messages between the student and Hoover. 

The mother told authorities that Hoover was trying to arrange to sneak the teen into her house while her husband was at work. The texts were sent in March and April of 2022. 

When the messages were sent, the teen was a student in several of Hoover’s classes.

Hoover was taken into custody on June 8 and released on a $15,000 bond the following day.
