WNBA star Brittney Griner‘s dentition has been extended again by a court in Russia, according to Russian state media outlet TASS. She will reportedly remain in custody at least through July 2.
A representative from the Khimki Court of the Moscow Region said Griner’s detainment was extended for another 18 days at “the request of the investigation,” ABC News reports.
The 31-year-old basketball player was detained at a Russian airport on Feb. 17 after authorities allegedly found vape cartridges with hashish oil in her bag. The New York Times reports she was charged with “large-scale transportation of drugs” and could face up to 10 years in prison.
In May, the U.S. government officially classified her as “wrongfully detained,” which meant the State Department would work to negotiate her release.
This is the third time Griner’s detention has been extended. In March, a Russian court extended her pretrial detention until mid-May, and just last month, the court extended her detention again until June 18.
