After being pulled over in Kentucky last month, veteran NBA forward Montrezl Harrell is facing a felony drug charge.
According to reports, Harrell was pulled over by a state trooper on I-75 in Richmond, Ky, for driving too close to another vehicle.
When the state trooper approached him, Harrell allegedly “admitted to having marijuana and produced a small amount from his sweatpants.”
Three pounds of marijuana were allegedly discovered in vacuum-sealed packages when the vehicle was searched.
Under Kentucky law, possessing between half a pound and five pounds of marijuana is a Class D felony punishable by 1-5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Marijuana is currently legal in 19 states and the District of Columbia, but not in Kentucky.
