Mo’Nique and D.L. Hughley have been beefing on social media for weeks. But Mo’Nique is apparently ready to make amends — sort of. The comedian publicly apologized to Hughley’s family during a show in Raleigh, North Carolina Friday night.
“I’d like to consider myself a woman of honor. So I’m about to do something right now publicly that I did publicly,” she begins. “And when I f*ck something up, I gotta fix it up. So I’m gon’ take care of that right now before I go any motherf*cking further.”
Mo’Nique continued on, naming Hughley’s wife and children in her apology.
“To D.L. Hughley’s family, I wanna publicly apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings,” he continued. “I want to publicly apologize to his wife, his babies if I hurt their feelings because that was never my god d*mn intention.”
But while addressing Hughley’s family, she did not include him in her apology. In fact, when it comes to the comedian, she “meant every motherf*cking thing” she said.
The two began publicly feuding over a Detroit comedy show contract after Mo called out Hughley, claiming that she should have been the headliner for the show. After trading jabs back and forth, Mo mentioned Hughley’s wife and youngest daughter.
She posted about Hughley not protecting his daughter after she was sexually assaulted by one of his friends.
This prompted a response from the comedian’s eldest daughter, Ryan Nicole Shepard. She called Mo out for publicly disrespecting her family, going so far as to tell Mo’Nique to pull up.
