Nipsey Hussle’s Killer Sentenced to 60 Years to Life in Prison

Eric Holder - LAPD

The man who is behind bars for the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle was reportedly beaten up while in custody and was unable to attend his trial on Tuesday due to seeking medical treatment for his injuries.

Eric Holder, 32, was beaten up after he left a Los Angeles courtroom Monday afternoon.

The incident comes a day after Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke and lawyers involved in the case went over jury instructions before closing arguments and jury deliberations that are scheduled to start Wednesday, the source says.

It wasn’t immediately clear where the incident went down, but apparently, Holder, who is a Rollin’ 60s gang member, is supposed to be kept away from other inmates when he’s transported to and from the court, due to the high-profile nature of his case.

The extent of Holder’s injuries was vague, but the source told Rolling Stone he suffered more than a black eye.

Judge Jacke excused the jury Tuesday morning, which then left the door open to more than a single-day delay.

“Based on some unforeseen circumstances that are no fault of parties here, we won’t be in session today,” the judge said, telling jurors to return Wednesday unless they receive a call saying otherwise.

Holder faces the possibility of life in prison if found guilty. It’s possible court will resume Wednesday, with Holder’s defense expected to have two witnesses. Closing arguments could then proceed Thursday.
