Following the untimely death of Ivana Trump, it has been ruled that she died from a fall down the stairs in her home.
The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office announced on Friday, just one day after she was found unresponsive “in close proximity” to the bottom of a staircase of her Upper East Side home. Law enforcement went to her house after receiving a welfare check request from someone concerned they hadn’t seen her in a while. First responders pronounced her dead on the scene.
The medical examiner determined that Ivana suffered blunt impact injuries to her torso. The death was ruled accidental.
Though it is unknown what happened in Ivana’s final moments, the owner of a nearby restaurant that Ivana frequented said the woman looked unwell during his last time seeing her two weeks before her passing.
“She was in bad shape. She could barely walk. She didn’t eat her food. She took it home with her,” Giuliano Zuliani shared, confirming that even with her being ill, she remained pleasant.
Ivana was married to former President Donald Trump from 1977 to 1992. They shared three children: Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Trump Jr. Though Ivana previously said Trump wasn’t the best husband to her, she acknowledged he was a great father and a lifelong friend of hers.
Ivana Trump is survived by her three children and ten grandchildren.
