A Connecticut man was arrested over the weekend at a Family Dollar after he held the door open for two women, and they didn’t thank him for the gesture.
Joshua Murray, 25, pointed a gun at two women in front of the store because they “did not say ‘thank you’ to him for holding a door open for them.” Police officers responded to a call Saturday afternoon about the incident.
Though officers did not find the suspect at Family Dollar, they found him nearby with a gun in his possession.
Murray was reportedly charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of second-degree breach of peace, and also interfering with an officer that allegedly took place during his arrest. He is currently held on a $25,000 bond and will appear in court on Aug. 2.
Delta Arsenal in Connecticut says the uptick in personal guns comes after mass shootings constantly rise around the country. On Sunday, a mass shooting occurred at an Indiana mall food court. There was also an attempted shooting at Yo Gotti’s birthday bash in Memphis.
Gun Violence Archive reports 350 mass shootings in the United States since the beginning of 2022.
