Actress, writer and producer Quinta Brunson has been tapped to play Oprah Winfrey in an upcoming film about musician and comedian “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Listen– booked and busy is Brunson’s middle name. She just secured a whopping seven Emmy nominations with her top-rated and beloved ABC series Abbott Elementary, making her the first Black actress to receive three comedy Emmy award nominations. Now, she’s on to her next big job, playing THEE Oprah Winfrey.
In the film, which has casted longtime actor Daniel Ratcliffe as Yankovic, viewers will learn the behind-the-scenes story of Yankovic’s rise to success and his early beginnings as a parody and comedy entertainer.
According to CBS News, Rain Wilson, Evan Rachel, Julianne Nicholson and more will also be in the movie.
