Cadillac is upping its game and joining the electric car chat.

General Motors just previewed what’s in store for the new modern luxury car that will have you riding in style for a hefty price.

The Cadillac Celestiq, which is expected to reach over $300,000 by late 2023, comes with “five LED interactive displays, including a 55-inch diagonal screen spanning the front cabin of the car; a ‘smart glass roof’ that includes customizable transparency options,” according to CNBC. General Motors has yet to release the details of its electric range, performance, and other metrics.

The “all-electric flagship sedan” is the first in the Cadillac family. The retailer typically doesn’t dabble with hand-built vehicles, usually reserved for high-end sports cars and luxury vehicles like Rolls Royce.

Shockingly, the inspiration for the car’s design comes from World War II. General Motors said that designers “drew inspiration from well-known cars such as the bespoke V-16 powered ‘coaches.'”

A spokesperson for Celestiq says, “Those vehicles represented the pinnacle of luxury in their respective eras and helped make Cadillac the standard of the world. The Celestiq show car — also a sedan, because the configuration offers the very best luxury experience — builds on that pedigree and captures the spirit of arrival they expressed.”

And by the sounds of it, the car is super expensive due to a hefty investment from General Motors. The company is investing $81 million at its tech center to hand build it.
