The popular kid’s mascot of Chuck E. Cheese is under fire after a New Jersey mom claimed the mouse ignored a high five attempt.
This past weekend a woman who goes by Umm Safa on Twitter posted a video of the Chuck E Cheese mouse in Wayne, NJ, ignoring her daughter after high-fiving the white children on stage.
Although it’s unclear whether the person wearing the outfit could genuinely see the young child, Safa doesn’t care.
“My 2yo was racially discriminated against. As you can see, he gives all of the yt kids hi-5s & PURPOSELY ignored my black baby. When confronted, he ignored me as well. The manager made excuses for him.”
According to Safa, the manager tried to explain that the costumed person could not see the little girl, and she was “sorry I felt that way,” but Safa exclaimed, “This is getting out of hand!”
It was recently reported that a similar situation happened at Sesame Place in Philadelphia, and the family was suing the theme park for $25M.
