LeBron James’s “House Party” reboot may have gotten canned along with other projects that were set to come out on HBO Max.
On Tuesday, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that it would be doing away with a slew of projects that were in the works, including James and his production company Springhill Entertainment’s reboot of “House Party.” It was originally set to come out on July 28, but it’s since been removed from the streaming platform’s slate, and no new date has been mentioned.
The film was set to star Jacob Latimore, Tosin Cole, DC Young Fly, Bill Bellamy, and more.
In 2018, James, who serves as a producer for the film, spoke about his admiration of the film in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“It’s an entirely new look for a classic movie,” James told The Hollywood Reporter in 2018, Okayplayer reports. “Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable.”
