Fetty Wap was taken into custody after threatening to kill someone via FaceTime during a heated argument last year.

The “Trap Queen” star, who is already fighting a massive drug trafficking case, was taken into custody on Monday in New Jersey. The arrest stems from a December 11, 2021, incident where Fetty was on a FaceTime call with a man only identified as “John Doe.” During the recorded call, Fetty brandished a gun and called the man a “rat,” saying multiple times that he would kill him. Since the 31-year-old was already out on a $500,000 bond stemming from his drug charges, the threats violated the conditions of his release and New Jersey state law.

“Imma kill you and everybody you with,” Fetty is heard saying on the video call.

Following his recent arrest, Fetty’s bond was revoked. However, his attorney Elizabeth Macedonio says the rapper was the true victim. According to her, the man who recorded the video chat had posted a photo of Fetty’s deceased daughter, Lauren Maxwell, on social media days before and expressed being “happy she’s dead because her father is a rat.”

“He was very manipulative in trying to get a rise out of Mr. Maxwell, to agitate him in a way no parent would have to face,” Macedonio said to Magistrate Judge Steven Locke at a bail revocation hearing in Central Islip federal court. It remains unclear how the video landed in the authorities’ hands.

Fetty was arrested as part of a narcotics trafficking ring on October 29th, 2021. He is accused of operating a multi-coast drug operation from June 2019 to June 2020. Fetty was charged with several federal offenses, including conspiring to distribute and possess controlled substances.

As of now, Fetty Wap will remain behind bars.
