Google Calls Out Apple Over ‘Outdated’ Technology And User Experience: ‘Help @Apple #GetTheMessage’

Google is calling out Apple for its “outdated” technology, saying “texting between iPhone and Android is broken.”

“#GetTheMessage” is a new hashtag that Google created in its campaign to push Apple to update what it calls an “outdated” user experience. As we all know, if you’ve got a Droid, you’re going to pop up with a green bubble in text messages on an iPhone. And sometimes, when you send photos from a Droid to an iPhone, they come out blurry. Well, Google is sick of it, and they said it in a statement this week, Fortune reports.

“Texting between iPhone and Android is broken. It’s time for Apple to fix green and blue bubbles, and texting for everyone,” wrote Google, which owns Android. “It’s not about the color of the bubbles—iPhone users get a bad texting experience,” the website statement went on.

Google also took jabs at how users can’t leave groups if they’re in a chat conversation with Droid and iPhone users, among other issues.

“These problems exist because Apple refuses to adopt modern texting standards when people with iPhones and Android phones text each other.” The company then promoted people online to share the campaign, saying, “help @ Apple #getthemessage.”
