With the release of her new album, “Traumazine,” Megan Thee Stallion continues to take the advice of her late mother, Holly Thomas.

The Houston Hottie sat down with Apple 1, where she told hosts Ebro and Nadeska that her mother’s final words of wisdom were that of encouragement and perseverance. Thomas, who was battling and ultimately died of brain cancer in 2019, wanted Megan to continue chasing her dreams despite her illness.

“And she was just like, ‘Just because I’m sick, you and T Farris, y’all don’t stop,'” Megan recalled her mom telling her.

Once Thomas, who was also a rapper, passed away, Meg knew she had to push through the grief and make it to the top where she currently sits.

Meg said her mother guided her career for her entire life. Once she died, the rapper admitted that she questioned how she’d go on with her life. The “Captain Hook” star says she continues to take it “day by day,” holding onto those final words even when the task is easier said than done.

“She said, ‘Don’t stop,’ so then I just took that literally. And we’re here today,” Meg told the hosts.

The 27-year-old has gone through several trials and tribulations since Holly died. She was allegedly shot by former friend and collaborator, Tory Lanez, during a dispute inside of a vehicle in Los Angeles. Meg has also been embroiled in a heated battle with her original record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.

Nevertheless, Megan Thee Stallion remains one of this generation’s most sought-after female rappers.
