Just when you think Balenciaga couldn’t outdo themselves, the fashion house has now unveiled their Shoelace Bow Earrings.
Balenciaga repurposed its sneaker laces by binding them into a bow commonly seen when tying sneakers. Attached is silver-tone metal logo-engraved hardware with post-back fastenings to ensure they stay in place on those with pierced ears.
The design is pretty straight to the point, leaving some scratching their heads at the lack of thought placed into the unique piece of jewelry. However, for Balenciaga’s Creative Director, Demna Gvasalia, the simplicity is on brand with his mission to display everyday objects such as children’s beads and water bottles as high-end fashion.
