Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been suspended for 11 games and fined $5 million following a settlement between the NFL and the NFLPA.
More than two dozen women have come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against the 26-year-old baller. This week, the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) have come to a settlement agreement to fine Watson $5 million and suspend him for 11 games without pay.
According to the agreement, Watson will have to go through a “professional evaluation by behavioral experts and will follow their treatment program.”
“I’m moving on with my career and my life, and I’m going to continue to stand on my innocence.” Watson told news outlets, “Just because settlements and things like that happen, doesn’t mean that person is guilty for anything.”
He went on: “I feel like the person has the opportunity to stand on his innocence, and prove that, and we proved that on the legal side, and we’ve just got to continue to push forward as an individual and as a person.”
