A New York City man accused of driving while intoxicated crashed his red BMW into three pedestrians on a Queens sidewalk early Saturday morning.Â
The 23-year-old driver struck the trio in Jackson Heights at around 4:20 a.m. Photos show the mangled car came to a stop against a utility pole. NBC New York reports that a trail of blood was left behind at the scene.Â
The three men struck by the BMW SUV were ages 25, 28, and 32. All three of the victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital with injuries ranging from serious to critical. All are expected to survive.
The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and was arrested on DWI charges. NYPD identified the suspect as Edilito Piterdo-Rodrigo of the Bronx.
