Actor Shia LeBeouf appeared on Jon Bernthal’s Real Ones podcast, where he opened up about abuse allegations made by his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs.
“I hurt that woman,” LaBeouf said on the Patreon-exclusive episode. “And in the process of doing that, I hurt many other people, and many other people before that woman … I was a pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being.”
During the two-hour conversation, LeBeouf never mentions FKA by name. She sued him back in 2020, claiming he gave her an STD, “relentless abuse,” and sexual battery. She also claimed the actor shot and killed stray dogs so he would know what it felt to take a life.
FKA and LeBeouf met on the set of Honey Boy in 2018 and dated for less than a year.
“I f*cked up bad. Like crash and burn type sh*t,” LeBeouf continued. “[I] hurt a lot of people, and I’m fully aware of that. And I’m going to owe for the rest of my life.”
LeBeouf admitted to cheating on every woman he’s ever been with and acknowledged that he didn’t inform his sexual partners about “getting cold sores.”
He said at the time, he experienced thoughts of suicide and called FKA a “saint” and credited her with creating an avenue where he intends to seek a higher purpose.
He explained that he has since experienced “ego death” and intends to now be “instructive” in his life so he can be a billboard “for a principled way of living.”
The Disney Channel alum has been back in the news this week as Olivia Wilde’s film Don’t Worry Darling prepares for release. LeBeouf was initially cast as the lead, alongside Florence Pugh, but was subsequently replaced by Harry Styles.
Wilde implied in a conversation with Variety that LeBeouf’s behavior and “combative energy” would not foster a “safe, trusting environment” on set.
LeBeouf denied the claims that he was fired from the movie.
“Firing me never took place, Olivia,” he told Variety. “And while I fully understand the attractiveness of pushing that story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that brings. It is not the truth.”
LeBeouf recently welcomed a baby girl named Isabel with his wife, Mia Goth.
