Taco Bell wants one newly engaged couple to get married in its metaverse wedding chapel.Â
The Taco Metaverse Wedding Chapel doors are now open and ready for couples to say “I do” while enjoying a few tacos. The virtual space is located inside the Decentraland metaverse.Â
“Taco Bell’s metaverse wedding will allow one couple to take part in the voyage of what may well be the next evolution of modern love – and we’re proud to be leading the charge,” a spokesperson for the company shared.
The chapel is not meant for just anyone. Couples wanting to profess their love for one another in the virtual world must undergo an application process and be handpicked by the fast food chain. Those chosen will have a chance to walk down the aisle, eat tacos, and have their first dance. The big day will take place in front of their virtual guests, who will also be gifted with celebratory exclusive NFT wearables. Partners getting married will receive a special wedding certificate NFT.
Even better, the virtual wedding will be live-streamed on Decentraland, so family and friends with access to the platform can enjoy the festivities with the bride and groom.Â
Taco Bell is no stranger to the wedding business. The company has been marrying happy couples at their Las Vegas Cantina wedding chapel since 2017. The metaverse pre-nuptials are only the latest addition to their marriage portfolio.Â
The official application for the metaverse wedding opened on August 25th and will take new applicants until September 6th. The wedding will occur in November. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and are required to submit a video about their “unique and interesting love story.”
All interested couples are encouraged to apply for the unique wedding at tacobell.com/metaverse-wedding.
